Community Health Care...

FRRH is a private, nonprofit organization, which has been providing health care since 1990.  We believe that access to health care should be a right, not a privilege.  Our staff of doctors, dentist, physician assistants, nurses/medical assistants, health educator, family health workers, dental hygienist, dental assistant and support staff has dedicated themselves to providing the finest health services, especially to those with limited resources.  We work hand in hand with health and human service organizations at the local, state, and federal levels to ensure that all in the community receive the health care that they deserve.

     Coordinated & Comprehensive Care...

We provide a full range of primary care services including medical care, dental care and other services.  We know that many of our patients face difficult social problems that affect their health.  Our coordinated care provides patients with the services they need to get healthy and stay healthy.  We provide complete care.  Our physicians admit patients to the local hospital, Northern Maine Medical Center (Fort Kent), and provide after-hours call coverage.

FRRH is a participant in the National Health Disparities Collaborative (HDC) focusing on chronic diseases.  The HDC involves evidence-based guidelines/medicine for the treatment of chronic diseases.  FRRH has optimally managed two chronic conditions, diabetes and heart disease.

At a Price Everyone can Afford...

We accept most forms of medical coverage (including Medicaid and Medicare).  We are a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and make our services affordable to all who needs them.  Our sliding fee discount program reduces fees according to family size and income.  For example, a family of four with income up to $22,350 per year would pay only a minimal fee for services. This is made possible through funding from the Department of Health and Human Services.

How We're Governed...

The corporation is governed by a local Board of Directors composed of residents and patients of the area that avail themselves of the services provided by the organization.  The Board provides leadership, guides the organization, and serves a dual role in linking the health centers with the Community.

Fish River Rural Health is an equal opportunity employer and provider.
